Who says lips get to have all the summer fun? When Rimmel Eyeful Eye Glistener eye pencils ($7) smooth onto eyelids, they leave behind a colorful shine like lipgloss for your eyes. 🙂
Use ’em as either shadows/liners for 1) a transparent wash of glossy, creamy color on your lids; or 2) build them up for a punch of pigmented color like in these swatches here…

NARS Albatross Lipgloss ($24), one of five new limited edition shades inspired by a different iconic NARS blush of the same name, comes in for a landing at Sephora stores and Sephora.com on July 29. The color’s designed to enhance the natural beauty of lips with a hint of soft, sheer golden shine.

The Ko Olina Resort & Marina on Oahu, Hawaii
Hey, boo. 🙂 Tabs and I just got back from breakfast in the front yard. There’s this cool kitty salad bar out there that has the freshest cat grass in Novato (they say they’re also getting catnip soon). Seriously, TO DIE!
It’s barely 11 here, and it’s already steamy hot outside. Looks like flip-flops and shorts are in order (and a bucket of sunscreen). My grand plans for the day involve my bum in a deck chair, multiple glasses of homemade iced tea and a stack of magazines, ahh…
I’m curious — what can you tell me about homemade ice cream? Have you ever made it before? My muffin top and I would love to hear some tips.
WHOA! The tide’s coming in fast. Can you catch a few e-waves with me before you jam? Grab your boogie board because surf’s up!
Calgon, take me to Italy!
Been listening to this song all morning…
Have a great day!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

True story: Every once in a while my mom calls to complain about my dad bogarting her perfumes. Seriously, pops, I love you, but wearing the scent of a woman? — not so hawt.
With Father’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been sniffing around for a new scent for dear old dad, and my nose has really been liking Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme ($57 for a 1.6 oz bottle).
Inspired by the free spirit and power of the ocean, it’s the latest addition to Gucci’s family of fragrances for men, with notes of grapefruit, cardamom, fig nectar, and rich, woody patchouli. I think dad would like the scent, but I know he’d like the bottle, which feels hefty and solid in my hands.

Remember those March murmurs about a little something called MAC Fabulous Felines? Well, it’s still a few months away (August in the US; September internationally), but after Tabs spotted these fabulous promotional pictures yesterday, he insisted we do a tribute look.

OG MAC Fabulous Felines tabby promo pic!

Homegirl version!
Ya gotta love how Tabs smiles with his eyes. 😉
The look didn’t turn out exactly like the tabby promo pic we used for inspiration, but I ended up liking the smokey gray/brown combo for the eyes.

stay frosty |stÄ ËˆfrôstÄ“|
colloquial
1 A phrase which has come to mean “be cool,” but which more properly understood is an admonishment to stay alert and on one’s toes : stay frosty, and man the barricades!
2 What Urban Decay wants people who wear their new eyeshadow colors to do : Urban Decay wants us to stay frosty and look hawt.
So I’m kinda lovin’ on Urban Decay’s new eyeshadow colors, but WOW! — they sure are frosty.
Freelove, Woodstock, Psychedelic Sister, Haight, Dashiki and Aquarius launched exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com last month ($17 each), and they have everything UD lovers (like moi) adore about the line — smooth textures, playful pigments and insane color payoff — along with a whole lotta frost.
While I love a good frosty shadow, they aren’t always the easiest products to wear. Go even a tad overboard with them (been there, done that), and they can look heavy on the skin and highlight fine lines and wrinkles.
