What Are You Wearing On Your Nails?

September 27th, 2012 by Karen 27 Comments

Tabs went au naturale today. 🙂 While he’s usually on point when it comes to the latest fashion trends, he generally prefers nude, non-fussy claws. “Meow,” he says. [“It’s a street thing.”]

Chanel Le Vernis in MaliceAs for my claws, I’ve got two coats of Chanel Le Vernis in Malice on my left and nothing on my right…

But I’m just about to slap on these Trend Tips Real Lacquer Strips nail stickers from Sephora by OPI ($12). This one below is called Pink & Black Lace (Sephora also carries 17 other designs).

Tabs apparently approves. 🙂

How about you? What are you wearing on your nails?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. How’s it going tonight?

Oh! Get this — I was at Safeway earlier and saw that DiGiorno makes half-and-half frozen pizzas now. Half cheese, half pepperoni (the cheese for me and the pepperoni for El Hub).

It’s like someone read my mind, LOL! Got one in the oven right now…

Other than that, I’m gonna watch another episode of Friday Night Lights and go to bed. I’m almost halfway done with the fourth season (of five) and already starting to feel sad because I know it’ll be over soon.

[SNIFFS!] Texas forever, y’all. Texas forever.

I have some similar nail wraps from sephora, but I think they may have had jewels on it….

I’ve never seen the show Friday Night Lights, but I used to live in the city that it’s based out of!

Wait — you used to live in Dillon, Texas?! Are you kidding me? That’s so cool, Nicole! You should totally watch the show. I wonder if the Dillon high mascot is really a Panther.

The book and the movie are actually based in a city called Odessa, I guess they changed the name for the tv series, weird! Is the school in the show still called Permian like the real one? And the mascot is really a panther!

I have used those exact same nail art stickers! They are pretty amazing but felt really weird, like I had band aids on my nails for the first few days. Hope you post pics & give an informative review as always! Are you considering trying the caviar manicure?

No nail stickers for me but OPI ” Vampsterdam ” on my toes ( feet ) while nothing at all on my hands. I’ve never tried nail stickers yet, either Ciaté I just wear simple nail polishes either middle end or high end.

    These pictures are behind adorable!!!

I’m wearing Dior Trench on my nails and Illamasqua Swinger on my toes. Think I’ll give myself another pedi soon with a color that’s more fall-appropriate 🙂

That Chanel polish is sooo goorrrgeous, so appropriate for fall (can’t wait!) I, myself, have a good ole neutral red on my claws (Zoya Sooki), though I think I’m going to paint ’em bright, Tabs-worthy International Klein Blue with Revlon Royal next week!

I had Chanel Graphite on them yesterday, when I decided to turn it into an ikat manicure and painted on the design with Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad and a white striper! 🙂

I guess I’m boring! I have Essie Mademoiselle… I bite my cuticles, ugh! Ugly habit, hard to break so I wear light colors so the jagged edges don’t show!

Last night I just applied Flashbulb Fuschia as a mani and Butter London’s Pillar Box Red on the toes. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the fuschia, I’m loving how the jewel toned colors right now.

Au naturale for me, as well. No surprise there. 🙂 Can’t wait to hear how you like the nail stickers; hopefully their wear-time will be better than the Sally Hansens you tried.

Yes, I’d seen the DiGiornio half and half, too. If El Hub is feeling extra meaty, you can just get the regular pepperoni and move all of it over to his half before baking. I do that with the boys sometimes when one wants only cheese. 🙂

I don’t feel so bad with bare nails if Tabs is wearing bare nails!

Quincy Bunny went to the vet today, but he didn’t need a mani-pedi today – he got one at the rabbit sanctuary not too long ago 🙂

Hello Karen! I just discovered your blog because I just bought Milani’e runway fashion shadows in 07 Ready To Wear and I love it already, but anywho, my google search for reviews led me here! How ECSTATIC I was to find a woman of color, (specifically similar to my color 😀 ) doing a beauty blog! I’m new to the makeup thing but have been a nail polish addict for awhile and I see makeup might follow suit. ha! Thank you for this blog, I’m sure I’ll be here often!! -Grace
