This Week’s Top Posts

Rise and shine, morning glory! 🙂 How’s it going today? Did you do anything fun last night? After spending yesterday afternoon shopping for plants at Costco, picking up some necessities at Target and watching at least five episodes of HBO’s Entourage online, I finally turned in around midnight.

Yesterday at Costco I was shopping for a miniature citrus tree to set in a large pot by the front door outside, one that won’t outgrow the pot or need to be replanted, but I left empty handed. No luck tracking one down. I’ve seen ’em decorating outdoor shopping centers before, and El Hub insists that whatever we get be something that produces food.

Ah, boys…

Back to beauty then — what was your favorite product this week? Was it an old standby or something new?

Bonjour! Let Givenchy Makeup Take You Someplace Special for Summer

“The blues, bronzes, pinks and peaches transport me to a tropical resort, where I’m lounging lazily beside the pool, reading some book (probably teen lit) under a stand of palm trees rustling overhead. Of course, in this fantasy I’m rocking killer abs in a Burberry bikini, and Ryan Reynolds just offered to buy me a margarita…”

Warming Up to MAC Pret-a-Papier

“If you’ve ever been a little confused by MAC’s past color collection choices, you might be in for a treat this time (at least I hope so). Everything here just makes sense to me, like a bona fide summer makeup collection with wicked versatility and potential. Almost any combination of these colors picked at random could still produce a cohesive look.”

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blendable Powder Blush Deserves a Drugstore Makeup Crown

“For $5, the Lasting Finish Blushes are tough to beat, and they’re possibly the best drugstore blushes I’ve seen in a while. What a great way to expand a blush collection without spending an arm and a leg!”

$30 Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara for a False Lash Effect

“First, I think this pricey princess does kick serious booty in a few important ways… I’ve been testing it in High Density Black, one of the eight colors in the line, and it delivers some of the best pigment I’ve ever seen. It looks deep, dark and rich on my lashes, almost like they’ve been dipped in a jar of India ink.”

NARS Sin Blush: BFF to Purple Glosses Everywhere

“Shimmery golden berry NARS Blush in Sin ($26) just may be the perfect partner for purple gloss. It’s been part of the NARS family (permanent) for some time now, but I just recently gave it a try.”

It Wasn’t Hard to Fall for YSL’s Crayon Yeux Haute Intense Long-Lasting Eye Pencils

“Goodness, fellow dancing queens, today turned out to be a fantastic day for pigmented makeup. First the Benefit Ultra Shines and now Yves Saint Laurent’s new Eye Pencils ($28)? Fo’ serious, all of this pigment is making me want to shake my groove thing, shake me groove thing, yeah, yeah!”

Bejeweled or Banging? Glamour Glosses by Too Faced

“I’ve been alternating between Sex Pot (a creamy lilac) and Flirt (a creamy pinkish brown), both of which light up my lips with dense, even color. A precise brush applicator and a smooth formula dish out full coverage in one coat, but what I really love about them are how their colors don’t look thick, heavy or obvious (I bet they’d look great in HD!).”

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hey Karen!

Yesterday we went to Lowe’s and finally picked out carpet for the house. We also have them coming out to measure for new windows, yay! Oh and we bought two new bedroom lamps 🙂

I don’t know why but MAC’s Pret-a-Papier does nothing for me at all. Actually I am kind of glad because I have bought way too much lately from them. I am digging those Too Faced glosses though! I finally tried their Shadow Insurance because you always suggest it and I must say it blows away UDPP!

That’s cool. What color did you decide to go with for the carpet?

We went with a berber that is a tan shade but with specks of brown and other colors. Better to hide the cat hair with 🙂

Ha ha, we made our carpet decision based on the cat too. El Hub wanted the plush, expensive stuff, but I pushed for the budget carpet because Tabs tends to use whatever carpet is around as a cat scratcher!

I also went to Costco yesterday, and I was successful in purchasing a patio “cafe” set. I had a friend over yesterday afternoon to celebrate and sit on our back patio with me 🙂 That’s too bad that you weren’t able to find a dwarf citrus tree – ours (in Woodland) had tons yesterday (and two weeks ago, the last time I was there).

Continuing from last weeks “favorites” – LM TM and Nars Multiple in Orgasm. I’m now “preaching the gospel” of those two to all of my friends – and as soon as they can, they’re all going to try them. If only that Physician’s Formula TM with SPF 50 had LIGHT shades!

I gave in and bought a Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette for 4.99. It was a surprisingly awesome product and I used it most of last week.

I also got a blendable blush stick by Rimmel – and am liking it.

Im in love with my lipstain marker in Sunset too.

Hey, are you enjoying Entourage more now? I actually really like it, it’s just entertaining for me 😛

I went to Costco on Sunday and found a Stila set with a full size Lash Visor Waterproof Mascara, 2g Smudge Pot, brush no. 30, eye shadow trio and a tiny trial size of One Step PrimeColor – all for $19.99. Woohoo! Love Costco 🙂
