Don’t Gloss Over Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick

August 28th, 2010 by Karen 26 Comments

Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick review

Is it a liquid lipstick or a gloss? Since Korres bills Raspberry Antioxidant Liquid Lipstick ($22) as — you guessed it — a lipstick, why does it look (and feel) so much like a gloss?

Not that I’m complaining.

At. All.

Ultra smooth and non-sticky, these vibrant, long-lasting lippies have a smooth, slick texture and shiny finish, no matter what they’re called.

Are these really liquid lipsticks, or are they more like gloss? It’s a mystery, like Speidi (are they or aren’t they together?), or why McDonald’s Happy Meals never decompose.

Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick reviewOne way they’ve got typical liquid lipsticks beat HANDS DOWN is in the way they feel on my lips — comfortable, moist and light.

Launched exclusively at Sephora earlier this summer, all five colors contain antioxidant-rich raspberry and pomegranate, but they don’t contain parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, pthalates or GMOs.

Today I went with a layer of Natural on my lips. It’s a warm rose with a glossy finish, and I like how lightweight, thin and slick it feels.

After putting it on around noon, I puttered around the house and ran a few miles on the treadmill. Three hours after applying it, Natural was still going strong. Pretty darn good for a product with such a thin consistency.

With killer wear time, a hydrating water-based formula and an attractive list of ingredients, these glossy liquid lipsticks look and feel fabulous, and I hope Korres releases them in even more colors soon. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+

I saw these at Sephora today but I was hesitant about they’re staying power. I’m definitely going back and picking up a few shades now.

The Stila ones are cool, just different! Try this on next time you’re at Sephora just for fun. You might really like the texture.

I agree — it’s a great brand, especially the lip stuff!

Why are you putting yourself on MU lockdown? Are you starting to save for the holidays?

I got this in the Nude Beige & Natural shades; I ended up returning Natural because it was a little too dark on my pale self. Looks gorgeous on you, though! I really like the formula and opacity of these liquid lippies. Nude Beige is really pretty…but it’s almost a peachy terracotta color, rather than a true nude. The consistancy (no stickiness whatsoever) and lasting power of these are great, but I would encourage people to try before they buy,at a real store. Sephora’s swatches are not that close to the actual colors and the whole line runs a bit darker than is represented on their website.

Cool, I think I’ll check out the Nude Beige.

I’m going to make a trip out to Sephora this week — hopefully they’ll have these on counter so I can do some swatching!

That liquid lipstick looks awesome! I’m definitely going to give it a try. I usually stay away from lipstick because they don’t last, or they’re drying.

Karen! i’ve been eyeing these and thinking of getting one for the office. through sipping coffee and eating almond snacks, my lipstick is always disappearing! and sometimes i don’t have time to reapply before meetings. so i want something that is long wear but hydrating at the same time. this seem to fit the bill! will definitely give it a try~
