Today I really wanted to wear NARS Dragon Girl lipstick but couldn’t find it, but I guess that makes sense seeing how The Great Makeup Purge happened around these parts in the last couple years, LOL!
This pic of me wearing it is from 2017, and ya know what? I’m actually relieved I made myself get rid of it because chances are I probably would’ve kept it and worn it still, and even I have to admit that’s pretty gross.
I’m going to pop by Ulta today because 1) I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without Dragon Girl (it’s a must-have red) and 2) I need to buy Connor a last-minute birthday present. She’s turning seven tomorrow, can you believe it?
Time really does fly when you’re having fun — and raising a tiny human!
During the last few trips to Ulta, she’s admired the Caboodles, so she’s going to finally get one this year for her birthday.
I doubt that she’ll want to put makeup in it, though, because during her last dance performance, she absolutely refused to wear any makeup beyond the dance team bare minimum requirement of red lipstick. No blush, no eyeshadow, no glitter. Just red lipstick. I KNOW. I was shocked, too.
Hmm, now that I think about it, maybe I’ll get her a stick of Dragon Girl, too.
Her Caboodle will probably hold play jewelry or art supplies (or both), no doubt!
While we’re on the subject of Ulta, GIRL… Did you know Ulta sells Chanel makeup now? Yes! It looks like they carry a lot of the line, too, including my favorite Chanel foundation, Vitalumiere Aqua. I have quite a few points saved up, so I might be doing a lil’ Chanel shopping there soon.
Question for you. Were you an “Allure” subscriber like I was before they shut down their print magazine? I still really miss it. Sigh! Anywho, they sent me the latest copy of “Vogue” as a replacement, and you know what? I’m really enjoying it! Maybe it’s because I’m starved for a beauty magazine I can hold in my hand, but I’ve been devouring the latest issue with Erykah Badu on the cover.

I’m going to try to finish work early today, so I can do all the pre-birthday prep that needs to happen before tomorrow (including Connor’s annual birthday lasagna). Time to shred some mozzarella!

Love Erykah Badu and love that song! Can’t believe Connor Claire is turning 7!!!!! Seems like just yesterday your were surprising us all with your pregnancy news! Ulta is turning into my go-to over Sephora simply because of the sheer variety of things they have. In my small North Dakota town, we now have an actual Ulta store and an Ulta inside of our SuperTarget right next door. We used to have a Sephora inside JCPenney but they’ve changed that to JCP Beauty. So I can only shop at Sephora online.
If we lived in your town I would be doing the same thing; I would rather buy from a store that I can easily return something to if I don’t like it.

Happy Birthday to Connor Claire! Yes, I’ve heard that Chanel came to Ulta. They are also carrying Dior and in a recent email, it looks like they are going to carry Natasha Denona makeup. Seems like more brands that are in Sephora are coming to Ulta.

I was just wandering around an Ulta a few weeks ago, apparently in a deep fog, since I never saw any Chanel. Normally, I’d be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. HAHA! Will definitely be on the lookout now.

Re: Ulta! I’ve seen Chanel fragrances but have yet to see a display in store. I hope that happens soon though! They’re online if you really are feeling the need to pick up another pan of Malice. 🙂

Ulta usually has much better deals than Sephora and I personally love the mix of drugstore and high end cosmetics. I have Dragon Girl…and you are totally making me want to wear it. Looks great on you.

Your post inspired me to wear Dragon Girl this weekend! I have it in a matte lip pencil I received in a GWP, and while out shopping yesterday a retail worker complimented it and said it was “my color”. It’s definitely your color, too!
Chanel at Ulta is the only reason I became Diamond last year. Last years intro of the No. 1 line and the intro of the Chanel line online (previously it was only in a few select stores) has definitely been the reason why I’m Diamond!! Ulta has excellent rewards system, and I save my points to redeem for high dollar cash value. I’ve shifted some regular Nordstrom purchases to Ulta now given the points system.
