The recently revamped Napoleon Perdis China Doll Gel Eyeliners

Next time you watch Project Runway (if you watch Project Runway), keep an eye on Heidi Klum’s lower water lines… She uses a trick with white liner to make her eyes look brighter, and it works!

I’ve been looking for a white gel liner to wear on mine for what feels like centuries. I’ve tried MAC’s Fascinating Eye Kohl, off and on, but have never really been happy with the wear time, and on me, unfortunately, it smudges.

All this is to say that I have soaringly high hopes for these recently revamped Napoleon Perdis China Doll Gel Eyeliners — in particular, one of them, a white matte shade called Yang. I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t wiggle or scoot shortly after I get it on my water lines.

Year of the horseYang is one of seven shades in the line. Napoleon nixed the parabens, which had been in the formula before, and added four new shades to the line in golden Double Happiness, navy Dynasty, blackened gold Forbidden City and pewter Lotus.

These are designed to be worn on lash lines, water lines, as cream shadows, or as bases for powder shadows, and they’re billed as long-wearing and smudge-proof.

We shall see (she said, rolling her hands together conspiratorially). I’m gonna try Yang on my water lines tomorrow. Bright eyes, here I come! 🙂

All seven China Doll Gel Eyeliners are available now at Napoleon Perdis stores, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and online at napoleonperdis.com for $25 each.

I love the way Dynasty looks in the pot – it’d be a shame to dig in…

Hey Karen, I’d love to hear how the formula performs on you! There are several shades here that are calling my name! Forbidden City looks dark enough to define but has a twist!

Those swatches look amazing- thank you, Karen! I’ve never tried Napoleon Perdis before, but Forbidden City looks amazing to me- I’m obsessed with tomb raider and archaeology movies and the names and colors in this collection are so appealing to me! I was struck, though, with the identical nature of these product names to MAC’s Cremesheen + Pearl lipsticks, etc (Double Happiness and Dynasty, for example). but hey, why reinvent the wheel when it’s such a cool concept! 🙂

I have the color Silver in the old formulation of the Napoleon Perdis China Doll Eyeliner (wearing it today, as a matter of fact!) and I’ve always loved it…and it has lasted forever! Lotus looks like such a pretty shade, I will have to check these new ones out!

I’m hoping the black shade works well. I can never have too many black gel liners.

Good luck! I have UD Yeyo but almost never wear it because I’m lazy and nothing ever lasts on my waterline. 🙁

      Hey Kim,

Have you tried gel pencil liners? Bobbi Brown has one that’s really sticks to the water line. I used to wear it all the time. I haven’t been lately, though, because my skin’s just been so dry!

How have you been? I feel like it’s been forever since I talked to you.

No, I haven’t but I’ll have to try them. Even the UDs run like crazy – which is fab when I’ve tightlined in black and then look in the mirror about 3 hours later. HAHA!

I know! I feel that way, too. Between things being crazy at work and all the boys’ hockey stuff, I don’t get to check in as often as I’d like. I haven’t even taken any kitty pics yet and he’s getting so big. Everything is good, though. I’ve been DVRing True Detective and like it so far. Have you seen it?

The theme of the color names makes me chuckle…

At least they’re being a little more original than others in recent memory
