1. Black hair ties
I am forever buying new packs of black hair ties to replace the ones that disappear into the black hole of beauty products. When I try really hard not to lose them, I might go five, maybe six months, without buying a new pack.
Typically, though, I’m grabbing a fresh one every three or four months. I’ve given in to the reality of not being able to keep them. In the words of the Mandolorian, “This is the way.”
2. Hair Conditioner
OMG, so much conditioner! Remember how in the ’80s and ’90s how the directions on conditioner bottles would say something along the lines of working a quarter-size dollop into your hair? I’ve always needed, like, five dollars worth of quarters in mine, LOL! I go through a lot of conditioner quickly. Usually two or three bottles a month.
3. All the things related to moisturizing
Face cream (I’m currently loving Biossance Omega Repair), body lotion (Everyone Vanilla + Lavender is my jam), hand cream, lip balm… If and when the zombie apocalypse occurs, I will be hoarding moisturizer like nobody’s business.
4. Sunscreen
This has been a relatively recent uptick (like in the last year), as I’ve been trying to be diligent about daily sun protection. Body sunscreens and face sunscreens are a big chunk of my beauty budget.
5. Brown eyeliner
Anybody else blaze through these? I’m an avid tightliner, so brown liner never lasts long in my makeup bag.
How about you? What beauty products do you buy the most?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

1) Moisturizer, lotion, and lip balm. Always.
And just lately:
2) Perfume. I like to have a new signature perfume that fits each season. (Anything to make the pandemic and staying home all the time a little more interesting.) I’ve found that roller ball is the way to go if you like to switch it up a lot and you’re not a millionaire.
3) I’m really deep diving into the best lipsticks for me, because one day I *will* be able to wear them somewhere other than Zoom meetings. So I’m exploring formulas, colors, favorite ways to apply, etc. (Lip crayons are currently in the #1 spot.)
4) Skin care products. When you’re in your 40’s, that is a long, complicated, and sometimes emotional process. Just when you have it down, you’re skin changes on you again and you have to start over.
Oh gosh, I do not miss all the conditioner I went through when my hair was long! I’m rocking a chin-length bob now and all I have to do is spray conditioner, with that proverbial quarter-size dollop in the shower every two weeks. Sometimes I miss my hair, but not all the work, lol.

Ooo good question. Bioderma Sensibio H2O I repurchase a lot and regularly, but the big bottle lasts a while.
Body lotion is another – I usually use the Target Up and Up fragrance free lotion that’s a Vaseline dupe.

Me Time Bonaticals Glow Getter serum. Hello glow, goodbye Acne!
Leahlani Skincare Bless Balm – OK, I could just inhale the scent all day (it’s so popular they actually make a perfume oil with the smell). It cleans, it’s a day or nighttime moisturizer, mixed with a clay potion it’s a wonderful mask.
Sunscreen – I’m Scottish with the fair complexion to match – what can I say. I have several I use but all are physical type sunblocks.
Argan Oil – I use on my skin over moisturizer in the winter, after a shower on damp skin everywhere, in my hair, cuticles, you name it. My favorite is from Wilder Supply Company in Chickaloon Alaska. Unlike a lot of argan oils, it has ZERO added ingredients so even my skin at its worst (rosacea/eczema) drinks it right up.

Oh my goodness, there is a black hole in outer space that is filled with hair ties. I am positive of it. I have short hair, but I always keep a pack around for when Dear Daughter visits.
I buy a lot of sunscreen.
Then skincare. Retinol serum, Vit C, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer.
Lip balms. Because they disappear almost as much as hair ties.
Mascara. I’m a mascara junky. Love to wear it, love to try new brands.
Perfume. I wear it every day. It’s my comfort.

Oh goodness, it’s a lot!
1) Dry shampoo and dry conditioner. I love Drybar and Verb. Cannot live without them!
2) Chanel waterproof eyeliners. Your brown eyeliner comment hits home; I have three of the Espresso (brown) shade in my collection right now. I can’t explain why. LOL! Except they are an addiction. I also cannot live without Noir and Cassis!
4) Mascaras. I always always always have a tube of Chanel Le Volume on hand. But I also rotate to new ones all the time to experiment. I’m a mascara hoarder!
5) Body lotions and butters. I never want to be without them!

1) like you, a lot of eyeliner! Brown or grey !
2) lipstick, I love Revlon lipstick and apply Blushing Mauve many times during the day.
3) eyeshadow. MAC Naked Lunch and Grain and Knight Divine (until they discontinued it) I just go through these eyeshadows like crazy.
4) I buy many bronzers in the hope of a hg. Not easy finding a cool toned, without grey bronzer, I just bought Bahama Mama , in the hopes if I sheer it out it will be a great color!
5) and last, I buy a lot of the perfume I wear Dior Addict, I like having a bottle in many spots in my house. I carry the smaller one in my purse. In 20 years I have bought many bottles and flankers of this juice !

I don’t loose as many hair ties since I switched to silk scrunchies.
