Cast Your Vote for Best Drugstore Product of the Year

December 30th, 2010 by Karen 75 Comments

Cast your vote for the best drugstore product of 2010

Drugstore beauty kicked bargain booty in 2010, and the greatness covered the gamut from affordable makeup to skin care to hair products to tools. NYX, Sonia Kashuk, Rimmel, NYC and wet N wild were just a handful of 2010’s affordable overachievers, and they made this bargain huntress dance her “I’m saving MONEY!” dance more than a few times this year (looks like a cross between the robot and the snake).

With big budget retailers like Target expanding their cosmetics departments, the definition of drugstore continues to change. Traditional drugstores like Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens have bargain competition now, and that’s great news for us.

If your fave budget beauty product came out in 2010, give it your vote. Which drugstore product (Target counts too!) stood out to you as the best of the year? Tell the world in the comments. 🙂

Make sure I don’t miss your vote by including it at the top of your comment like so: VOTE: Drugstore Product. That’ll make it easier for me to tally the entries and share the results. After you’ve made your nomination, let me know why you picked that one product over everything else.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Even though I picked this up pretty recently, I’ve been wearing this every time I use foundation. It feels great on my skin, and it covers up my blemishes really well without making my skin look cakey. I love it!

L’Oreal Voluminous Millions Mascara makes my eyelashes look super long and thick! It’s easy to add more coats for a more dramatic look and it doesn’t clump on me. It’s great 🙂

Wet n’ Wild’s Color Icon palettes, by far. Great color selection (with some great dupes, and colors rarely found in drugstores!), great pigmentation and texture, and even greater price! My personal faves are the Night Elf and Sugar Plum Fairy palettes from the holiday collex, and the Lust palette from the permanent collection. I hear 8-color palettes will be coming out soon, I can’t wait!!

I use this to take off my make-up before applying my acne products at night. I have pretty tough skin, so my skin can handle this every night. It comes with the little rubber scrublet that feels GREAT on your skin. Plus, when you put this on, it has a very yummy apricot scent! I love using it & my skin has definitely become a LOT softer since I started using it of the nights. I started out using it morning & night, but let me tell you–bad idea. It DID dry out my skin a bit, but I’ve been using it just nightly for months now with no problems at all =] And did I mention it’s only $4?
