I popped on over to the Athleta website the other day because they’ve got some pants and tops on sale that look like they’d be good for both work and casual outfits.
These are all the things currently on my wish list!
1. Endless High Rise Pant in Aspen Olive
I like how these pants have a tapered leg and a classic vibe. Ooh, and they’ve got pockets!
2. Renew Seamless Crewneck Tee in Aspen Olive
I’ve been loving the ease of monochromatic outfits lately, and this top looks like it would go perfectly with the Aspen pants! All you’d need to do then is to throw on a chic coat, like the…
3. Stellar Trench in Calcite Beige
So cute! I like the idea of a soft trench that flows with you when you move. This one seems like it would be comfortable to travel in and dressy enough for work.
4. Jetset Bomber Jacket in Abalone Grey
For a more casual vibe, I think this would bomber would be a fun option.
5. Brooklyn Mid Rise Ankle Pant in Navy
These navy Brooklyn pants look slightly more sporty compared to the Endless pant, but they still look like you can easily dress them up with a cute pair of chunky loafers.
6. Renew Seamless Racerback Tank in Navy
And of course you gotta have a matching top! This racerback tank looks like it would be a great option for the warm spring days ahead.
7. Renew Seamless Crewneck Top in Black
Until spring weather kicks in, though, I’d wear the pants with a black long sleeve top.
8. Retroplush Bomber Jacket
You know what? I think I’m turning into a girl who loves coats, blazers and jackets. I think this one would pair well with any of the outfits above!
Does anything here catch your eye? I’m seriously not kidding when I say I want all the things!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. The storm that’s currently over the Bay Area has been relatively OK so far in my neighborhood. A huge branch on one of the olive trees in our circle snapped off, and a bunch of outdoor patio furniture got knocked over, but nothing major was destroyed, knock on wood. Whew! How are things in your neck of the woods? Just think, soon enough, the days will be longer and it will be warm enough to walk around outside and enjoy the sunshine. I can’t wait for spring!

The Brooklyn ankle pants are a great basic, I have them in navy and dusty rose. They look good with athletic shoes and with chunky loafers.

I also have a list going at Athleta! I want to get some of their Breezy tanks for summer. I hate to pay full price but I did find a coupon code for 20% off so I might bite the bullet and get some! The picks you found would be great for work! I love the monochromatic green!
Karen says
Ooh, let me know what you end up getting!

I haven’t gotten anything from Athleta since before the lockdowns.
My trainer got this blazer. She’s about 4’11” maybe a tad shorter, so it’s a long look on her, but so cute! Refined yet comfy looking. https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=982816002&vid=1&searchText=blazer#pdp-page-content
I like that trench. An attached belt makes sense. I can’t tell you how many trench belts have gotten lost in this household.
Karen says
Ooh, that’s cute! Looks like you can dress it up or down.
Gina says
I love the trench!!! (But not for $300!)
Karen says
Girl same!

Ditto to what Gina said! That coat’s expensive! The most I ever spent on a coat was $100, and that was a pure wool coat I bought around 1989. I think it was made in the US – I still have it but it doesn’t have the origin tag on it. It has held up very well. I didn’t buy another winter coat until about 3 years ago, when I could get a name-brand puffer coat discounted to $35.00. I wanted it because a puffer coat should be more water resistant than a wool coat. We often get heavy cold rains in the wintertime. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain again, probably heavily. It was really cold a few weeks ago, but it’s nicer now. I won’t let my guard down, because our coldest, snowiest weather usually occurs in mid-February.
Karen says
It’s very expensive. If I could get it on sale I’d think about. But I wouldn’t pay full price!
Tatiana says
I didn’t even look at the price, because I guess I wasn’t thinking about actually buying a trench. I had a bunch of windows open on Athleta after reading this post. But I did a mental tally of the workout clothes and jackets in my closet and decided I don’t need anything right now. So I deleted all the tabs.
These days before I shop I ask myself things like, do I really need it? Where will it fit in my wardrobe? Is it good quality that will last for some time?
