Hi, friend. Today’s the last day of the home renovation, and I’m hanging on by a thread. Granted it’s a very thin, very worn thread, but I’m still hanging on. 🙂
I’m so happy to finally say goodbye to the carpet and paint Tabs and Rosie so gleefully destroyed, and hello to brighter floors and walls. I’m also looking forward to making lots of new memories with my family in a fresh space.
Anywho, I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. I hope things on your side of the keyboard are well and that you are hydrated, moisturized and unbothered!
By the way, the pic at the top is one Connor and I took last night, right before she sang with her classmates in her school’s Easter chapel performance. The sun was in our eyes and so we were squinting; I didn’t realize we had such similar expressions until I saw this photo.
Have a great rest of your day, OK?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

You two look a lot alike and both beautiful!
So happy that your home is almost done! You will forget how horrible the renovating was once you’re able to enjoy the new and refreshed space! Happy almost Friday!
Karen says
Hi, Rachel. Thank you! I hope that you and your little ones are doing well. How’s the sleeping (or lack of it) going?
Rachel says
It’s not too bad, thanks for asking! I sleep when they sleep and we generally sleep in! So I feel like I get enough when you add it all together!
Karen says
I remember being very preoccupied with sleep during those first few months. I’m glad you’re able to enjoy this time with them. It goes too fast!
Rachel says
I know what you mean! I’m a huge baby myself when I don’t get enough sleep, I really feel sorry for myself! So I’ve had to get over that and just remember that the sleep deprived stage won’t last forever either!
Karen says
Yes. Soon they’ll be sleeping through the night. Then you will all get to experience new challenges and adventures — turning over, crawling, potty training… And then you’ll blink, and they’ll be six!

Sorry for not being in touch sooner. We have been in Covid isolation since Bruce tested positive last week. I have been negative and yesterday was the first day of being normal. Even though, I was fine, I just felt uninspired to do anything. We are not even going to be with family for the holiday.
I hope all goes well with your renovation. You gals look adorable. Have a good and safe holiday.
Be well.
p.s. I am loving the new Laura Mercier Tinted Light Revealer Moisturizer and the liquid blush. So far they make a good warm weather combination and have helped lift my spirits through this rough period.
Karen says
Oh no, Jane. I’m sorry to hear that! I’m glad though that things are starting feel a little more normal. We aren’t doing anything for the holiday, either. Kinda bums me out because I usually love making a big lunch and inviting everyone over, but I’m too tired and don’t have it in me. Plus the house is in total disarray.
I’m excited to try the Liquid Blush! Laura’s blushes are always so on point.

Lovely pic of you and Connor. I like your trench and the way the bright red bag plays off of it!
Hang in there! Only a little more ways to go! You’ve got this!
I admire you. I could never do a renovation while living in the house. I’d have to find a month to month rental and move out while it was being done or I would totally loose my shi(R)t!! I can’t even stand it when I have a plumber or repair person in. We got a new furnace and A/C unit last autumn and I found it to be two days of he double hockey sticks. All the noise, the banging, their music played too loudly without asking if I minded. I mean it is my house, ins’t it?
Chelsea says
Glad you’re near the end!
Anne says
You look very similar in the picture, that is beautiful. And keep hanging on, you are almost there!
Somehow the last bit always feels like it lasts the longest.

Such a precious picture. You two do look so much alike. Thank you for a Friday smile and enjoy your updated home!
