Neutral lip lovers who also happen to adore coffee, you have to get MAC Creme in Your Coffee into your life, ASAP. It’s a mid-tone pinkish brown with a semi-glossy finish which I’ve been wearing since (GULP) 2011.
It goes great with all shades of brown, plum, taupe and bronze. If you wear and love MAC Satin Taupe (which I’m wearing lightly dusted on my lids in the pic above), you have to try it with this lippie. They work so well together.
Speaking of coffee-related things, it appears as though MAC Half ‘n’ Half lipstick, a shade I’ve loved for years, is discontinued. RIP to this neutral beauty!
Thoughts on Coffee
- I wonder if anyone else has a coffee cut-off time? I generally don’t have any after 3 p.m. because if I have a cup any later than that, I have a hard time falling asleep at night.
- On that note, I’m in awe of people who can drink strong coffee after dinner and still sleep normally at night. There’s NO WAY I could do that.
- I can’t remember when I started drinking coffee regularly, can you? I think I was in college? I may have been in my early 20s.
- Best coffee ice cream is Haagen Daaz, for sure.
- I haven’t had drip coffee in a while (Nespresso-4-life), but when I was drinking it every day, I used to love Dunkin’ Doughnuts coffee.
- Anyone else reach that point where coffee that’s too sweet is undrinkable? I don’t know how I got there, but here I am.
- I have never Door Dashed a cup of coffee. I’ve seen my neighbors do it, and I just don’t get it. Maybe I’m too old school, but it really doesn’t take much to get in my car and pop over to the drive through coffee place down the street.
- Black coffee tastes like punishment — gotta have the milk and creamer.
- Re: creamer. I can’t deal with oat, almond or soy milk creamer. Give me half and half or whole milk. There’s something about how dairy feels when it coats my tongue that I absolutely need. The plant milks don’t have the same sensation, and that’s a big thing for me.
- I get on these kicks when I need to have coffee in a certain mug in the morning. Lately it’s been a blue and beige “cat person” mug I got as gift.
- So many core memories in my mind of elementary school teachers leaning over my shoulder to explain something and smelling coffee on their breath!
- Weird, but I don’t think I’ve ever brought coffee anywhere in a thermos that has an attached cup.
- I’ve weaned myself off of coffee a few times throughout my life just for fun (and to see if I could do it), but at this point I don’t know if I could without 1) falling apart or 2) turning into a monster or 3) some combination of both 1 and 2.
- Weak coffee that tastes like lukewarm sad brown water is the worst.
- I wonder if something such as Chanel-branded coffee maker exists? I mean, if there can be a Chanel surfboard, why not a Chanel coffee maker?
- Last but certainly not least, what’s your favorite coffee?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

MAC has discontinued a lot of my old favorites, so now I regret tossing the eyeshadows. Still can’t figure out why they discontinued so many of the Viva Glam lipsticks except for the original.
My coffee cut off time is noon. My trainer can have black coffee after dinner and fall asleep. I cannot tell you how jealous I am.
Started drinking coffee when I was living in NYC after college graduation. First black until it started bothering my stomach so I started ordering it “coffee extra light”. Now milk is starting to bother me. Sigh. And I have tried so many different plant based milks and yuk to all of them. I hate when I end up with oily, gray coffee.
Door Dash a cup of coffee? No wonder we have climate change.
Lately, I’ve been drinking more tea. But I brew it double strength and still put milk in it.
My coffee mug of choice has all these cats on it ignoring dog commands, like sit, stay, roll, down, beg. Seems like they no longer make the mug, but they have a dishtowel in the print. https://fishseddy.myshopify.com/products/cats-dish-towel?_pos=3&_sid=c99d5df3c&_ss=r
Karen says
Oh my gosh, the cat on that print under the “Go Away” command! HA HA HA HA!

I love coffee! 3 cups/day for me. Cut-off time for me is noon-ish. If I go later, sometimes it’ll keep me up all night, sometimes not. Can’t chance it -I love to sleep more than my coffee.
My fav is flavored coffee – not flavored creamer (they’re all sweet & I canNOT do sweet in my coffee). I like almost all the flavored coffees out there.
Although I went to Costa Rica last month and yowza is it good there. I brought back 4# of it. LOL
I never knew Door Dash would bring coffee – really? How much is a cup?! Good grief!
One of my fav mugs is probably 35 yrs old – from a book store in Modesto (CA). It’s black and has a cat on it and has the name of the book store: A Perfect Crime. Isn’t that awesome?!
Karen says
Door Dash coffee = I know! I guess one would do it if the craving hits hard and you can’t drive someplace for whatever reason? LOL.

I love thoughts on coffee! Mac creme in your coffee looks beautiful and it’s one of those shades I’ve heard about forever but haven’t purchased. Maybe I should rectify that before they discontinue it.
My earliest memories of coffee are being a little girl and sneaking the very last drops out of my parents’ white McDonalds mugs (the one with the smiling sun-anyone else remember these?). I definitely drank coffee in high school, although not daily and it was probably more sugar, milk and whipped cream. It was the mid-late 90’s and I think we were all hanging out at coffee shops!
I started regularly drinking coffee in college and it’s still part of my daily morning ritual. Also Nespresso for life. I don’t generally like flavored coffees. A nice medium or dark roast is perfect (right now it’s the Melazio pods). I take it black or with a splash of oat milk (Planet Oat extra creamy or the Oatly barista). I love oat milk and it foams beautifully (the barista varieties) for espresso drinks or tea lattes.
These days I’m a one cup a day girl. I’ll sometimes have a non-caffeinated tea as well. I’m sensitive to too much caffeine but if I wasn’t I’d drink it all day. I actually rarely have caffeine after breakfast.
I also love coffee infused desserts like tiramisu and ice cream. If anyone has access to Publix I highly recommend their store brand espresso chip frozen yogurt.
Now I really want an iced coffee…
Karen says
I love Melozio, Megan! Have you tried the Odacio? I thought it might be too bitter for me when I read the description, but it’s not. It just has the perfect amount of richness with a lil’ bit of bite.
Megan says
Oh yes, I love the Odacio too! I haven’t tried the decaf or half-caff cups. Curious if you have?
Karen says
Hey, Megan! Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. The decaf and half caff are both delicious. I keep both in my collection at all times.
Question for you — have you had any trouble with your Nespresso machine? Ours started making a really loud rattling sound, so I called Nespresso, and they helped me diagnose the machine via video call. They ended up sending us a refurbished machine (thank goodness for the warranty).
Stephanie Smith says
I’m a coffee fan! I hated it until I turned 36, 11 years ago, and something clicked in my brain that I needed it. In the Summer I drink cold brew with a splash of heavy cream and peppermint mocha creamer. In the Winter, I drink hot coffee with heavy cream and peppermint mocha creamer. I can drink coffee all day, and sleep. I love peppermint mocha Frappuccinos from Starbucks, they’re my favorite, but I just moved to a town where the closest Starbucks is 15 minutes away. Saves me money. Lol!
Karen says
I’m so jealous that you can drink it all day and still sleep! My kingdom for a cup of coffee with dessert after dinner, le sigh.
How are you liking the new town?
Brigid says
That’s a beautiful shade and looks great on you. I just got their powder kiss lipstick in “Mull It Over” which is a dirty peach color. Looks great with their Honey Lust eyeshadow. I love coffee but alas, have to limit it to one cup or I don’t sleep at night.
Karen says
That shade is pretty, Brigid! I’ve worn it before and like it.
Linda says
OMG!! Coffee is probably my favorite thing in the world! But, like you, 3PM is my cut off time. I try to get as much as possible before 3!
And coffee colored lipstick would definitely be my jam, I love tinted browns.
Karen says
I just had another cup, LOL! I would LOVE to have coffee after dinner, especially with dessert. I can dream…
How do you take your coffee?
Linda says
I live in South Florida and here the thing is Cuban coffee, which is so delicious & once my hubby & I had it after dinner at a wonderful Cuban restaurant. Well…we were both up all night! And yet we still talk about how delicious that coffee was, lol. I prefer it with half-and-half, but I’ll take milk, if I’m desperate!
Karen says
I’m sure! If I’m ever in South Florida again, I’ll have to try it.
BTW have you tried Vietnamese coffee? Oh my gosh, so good!
Linda says
Yes! So Delish!
Tisha says
There’s a Chanel surfboard?! Woooooow 😂
Karen says
It retailed for $9K when it was released, OMG!
Rachel says
I loooove coffee and I loooove my Nespresso! I try to be done with coffee at noon but lately it’s been more like 2 because I like a little after lunch or I get sleepy. The decaf and half caff pods are nice for in the evenings for an after dinner or dessert coffee. Weak coffee is the worst!
Jennifer R Osborn says
Coffee makes me soooo happy! But, now that I’m 52, I can’t drink it really past 1 without having trouble sleeping.
I make two pots (they’re small) of Starbucks French Roast every morning. Sometimes I get the Italian but I have the French on auto delivery via Amazon.
I only drink coffee black. I cannot abide by any sugar or cream in a hot black cup of coffee.
However, if I’m getting iced espresso, my second favorite caffeinated love, in the Starbuck’s drive through, I ask for a teensy bit of cream on the side. Their definition of a teensy bit is a lot bigger than mine so I share it with the cats.
p.s.
Are we going to have any back to school fashion shows from Connor and Rosie?
Anne says
I absolutely detest everything about coffee but the scent, I am a black tea girl through and through. My days start with a cup of Earl Grey and I usually don’t stop caffeinated beverages (huge Coke Zero lover here) until right before bed. And I sleep like a baby – I probably have destroyed all my caffeine receptors over the years.
