There are a few things missing in the pic above because I’ve been trying to get better about removing unnecessary items right away, and it didn’t occur to me while I was putting everything in the recycling that I should probably take a picture first. Le sigh!
Anywho, here are (most of) my recent empties.
- R+Co Sun Catcher Power C Boosting Leave-In Conditioner – I liked this because it’s lightweight and does a decent job of hydrating my hair, but I probably won’t buy it again because I go through it too quickly.
- KORRES Foaming Cream Cleanser – An old standby cleanser for hot, sweaty summers! I use this when my skin is on the oilier side.
- BSG Kids Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion for Face and Body SPF 50 – This feels so sheer and lightweight on my legs, neck and arms. No stickiness whatsoever. I will rebuy, for sure.
- Avene Solaire Mineral Sunscreen – My boo. LOL!
- Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo, Conditioner and Heat/UV Protective Primer – I like this line a lot and finished all the products to the very last drop, but it’s so pricey. I’m gonna chill from it for a bit and switch to drugstore to save some money.
- Keys Soulcare Rich Nourishing Body Cream – If you’re looking for a rich balm for super dry skin, this is so good.
I can’t wait to see your empties in the comments below!
On an unrelated note…
I have to read this book for a work team bonding session that’s happening soon. Have you read it?
Most of my reading is either fiction or about writing, so this is new for me. I want to know if it’s good!
Hope you’re having a nice Thursday so far.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oh we did strengths finder at work! It was really interesting.
I just finished a tube of my moisturizer – Cheryl Lee MD True Lipids Ceramide+ cream and opened a new one. I’m almost done with my cleanser by the same brand, I need to repurchase.
Karen says
I was just thinking of you, friend! How are you doing? I hope you’re healing is going well.
Chelsea says
I had a muscle spasm in my jaw last week that pulled the muscles in my face, neck, and shoulder, so that was rough – went back to see my surgeon, I start PT for my jaw soon and they put in a referral for me to get Botox in the jaw (which I’ve done before, it feels fantastic). So things are going. I’m allowed to start chewing food again in about a month.
Karen says
Sorry to hear that things have been hard. Hopefully the next month will fly by, and that your healing will continue without any major hiccups. Take care of yourself, please.
BTW, Connor and I were just outside looking for four leaf clovers, and that’s when I thought of you and all the clovers you find on your walks with Hettie. 🙂
Chelsea says
Awwww! We got lucky today, a four leaf clover and a five leaf clover. I’ve always been able to find them, since I was a kid.
Amalia says
Coral C softening lotion from MAC I will not buy it again, because the product was 150ml and now 100ml with the same price.
Karen says
Ugh, don’t you hate it when that happens?
Amalia says
Oh, Yes, I hate it when that happens and I’m fighting, I’m trying my best to get it out there

I finished too many sunscreens to list them all. Also finished a Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream and a CeraVe night cream. Just re-upped The Ordinary Matrixyl Serum and a Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster and 10% Niacinamide Booster.
I used to use the Korres cleanser until they reformulated it with the new packaging and it became too drying for me.
Just sitting here doing laundry and housework, while I wait for the refrigerator repairman to show up.
Karen says
I hope he’s able to fix your fridge. When we were at Home Depot last week, I looked around all the fridges and was like, OOOH! So this is what modern times feels like (our fridge is 13 years old).
When does your hubby get back from his work trip?
Tatiana says
Our old fridge was 20 years old before it conked out completely. I really liked it more than this new one which we got in the summer 2019. I have hated this fridge since day one and I am so embarrassed that I asked Dear Husband for it. It’s an expensive piece of junk. The repairman told me the problem I have is a recurring one for this brand of fridge and it will keep happening again and again. Sigh.
Dear Husband gets back today. I expect he’ll land in about 25-30 minutes. Then there’s the jostling to get off the plane and trying to get a cab or Lyft/Uber home. I can’t wait to see him. I enjoyed 4 days off from cooking but I miss his handsome face and calm and easy going nature.
Karen says
OK, so now I need to know what brand so I don’t buy that fridge!!!
I can’t remember who I was speaking with recently, but they basically said that if you have problems with an appliance from the get-go, then no matter how much you try to talk yourself out of it, will continue to bother you for the entire time you have it.
Isn’t it nice when your partner comes home from a trip? When El Hub is gone, it’s pretty chill here (AND WE EAT ALL THE GLUTEN) but we miss him so much. Enjoy the time with your hubby!
Tatiana says
Do NOT buy a SubZero. The problem is in the design. Repairman said nothing is made the way it used to be. Said KitchenAid while built cheaper is still less problematic than SubZero. Or GE or Miele or LG or Samsung, were his other recommendations. This house came with a built in fridge so my options are limited. At this point I don’t care if I end up with a fridge that doesn’t fill the space and had gaps on the side and sticks out. I will never pay that much for an appliance again.
Haha, eating all the gluten. When Dear Husband is gone I take a break from it. He loves his carbs! I don’t get it, if I ate carbs like him I’d weigh 500 pounds.
Enjoy this last week before school starts! First grade! What a huge step!

I haven’t been going out very much lately (summer hibernation!), so I haven’t finished any makeup items. I am about to run out of my beloved Hydro Boost Gel Cream. That, along with Kiehl’s toner and my prescription cream, are the only facial skincare I can use right now. Oh, and a bar of Dove soap. 😱 It’s a Situation.
Rachel says
Kiehl’s multi-corrective anti aging cream. I liked it well enough, considering I found it at a rummage sale for 50 cents and it was brand new! Don’t think I will purchase again for the full price, I have some Origins powerful lifting cream I need to use up.
Brigid says
I just finished a bottle of Leahani Enzyme face cleanser and will definitely repurchase. It smells heavenly but cleans well and is gentle enough to use around my eyes, even with some light fruit enzymes to exfoliate. That and their Ruby Toner, I could just sniff the bottles all day.
Avene Xera Calm body oil/wash. I really like their mineral sunscreen and bought this even at over $30 as it was recommended for eczema. I hate to say it just made my skin itchier. But I’m ultra sensitive so most people will probably find that it’s quite moisturizing and refreshing to use and it only takes the smallest amount so the bottle should last a couple of months. I gave it to my daughter and she loved it.

On strengths finder: whoa people are still doing that! I took a quiz on it when I was in undergrad just over ten years ago. It was not as helpful as they claimed, as I already knew what my disposition would make me good for, and there weren’t jobs available for those skillsets. It made it kind of frustrating.
Empties: I love seeing people’s empties. I follow a lot of skincare IG accounts and they have SO many empties, but I’m not sure if it’s me or my skin but I couldn’t handle using that much product all the time!! Except sunscreen. I usually have tons of empties of sunscreen in the summer. Now that I think about it, I can’t remember what I last emptied 😂Oh! Holy Snails Hanbang Shark serum. That took about 8 months. Before that it was sunscreens, of course.
Amy says
Last empty: Shea Moisture in-shower body conditioner. Damdam face cream (Japanese brand, rich and really good). Buxom lip gloss. January Labs moisture cream. Does Pepsodent count?! Lol!! My Dad used it all the time and sang the jingle, and I love it. Can’t handle strong minty toothpaste, so it’s that or Nature’s Gate propylis and myrrh.
Fridges: my last two have been from an Australian company, Fisher & Paykel. I love them. They’re all counter depth, so it’s not an extra feature. It was one of the only ones that fit the cabinet dimensions I inherited, and I ended up totally sold on it. There are plenty of good brands, though!
Miss Kitty says
I can recommend Fisher & Paykel as well, generally good quality, or Miele.
Just an aside from an ex-Kiwi, Fisher & Paykel is an NZ company 😉😅 Although it’s been largely taken over by Haier.
Amy says
Oh thank you for the correction!! Appreciate it 🙂

I can’t list them all, as I collect them in a big bag to do a end-of-year-empties and it is too much to keep track of.
But the three most recent ones were:
Bobbi Brown Corrector (used to love it, but with age it settles into my fine lines more), then a Beauty 107 Toner that I really liked (it had a little more body and was great for layering for extra hydration) and the La Roche Posay UVMune 400 SPF 50 (my ride or die summer outdoor SPF).
