When You Play With the Sheer Plumping Glosses in Buxom’s $59 Lip Gloss Roulette Set, You Will Get Lucky

They say the house always wins.

Not so when Buxom’s new $59 Lip Gloss Roulette Set is sitting at your table. You can take a chance with any of its 15 miniature plumping glosses and win! — because every one of them leaves lips looking super shiny and, yes, slightly fuller.

The Buxom Lip Gloss Roulette Set ($59)

Most of the time I can’t tell a difference when I wear plumping glosses. I just don’t see the plump, but I really do see a little something when I wear these glosses.

It’s not epic. I mean, no one is gonna be mistaking my lips for Angelina Jolie’s today, but I do see something there, a slightly plumper pout, unless I’m hallucinating…which is entirely possible in my current state.

Have I mentioned that I’m completely exhausted?

We’re talking hella tired — so tired that you will probably read some extremely confusing and/or strange phrases in this review (and for that, I apologize).

That’s because I spent most of last night totally and completely freaked out, all because I watched a very scary movie right before bed (side note: you might want to stay far, FAR away from The Taking of Deborah Logan, unless you enjoy being traumatized).

If it wasn’t for the minty tingle from these Buxom plumping glosses, gurrrrl, my head would be using this keyboard as a pillow right now, and there would be a tiny puddle of drool between the letters G and H.

Thank goodness for these glosses. They tickle… It’s not a sting. They don’t hurt or anything, but I definitely feel something. It’s enough to make me sit up in my chair.

Actually, all 15 glosses in this set, which includes some of Buxom’s sparkly Full-On Lip Polishes and their non-shimmery Lip Creams, have that tingly sensation. All of them also have a mirror-like shine, feel somewhat thick and sticky, and last from three to four hours.

The Buxom Lip Gloss Roulette Set includes…

  • 11 x 0.07 oz Mini Full On Lip Polishes in Dominique (glittering ice), Clair (starry plum haze), Isabella (perfectly plum), Jennifer (flirty fuchsia), Julie (juicy watermelon), Karen (confetti pink), Katie (pink lemonade), Megan (caramel dream), Rebecca (golden glitz), Sophia (sweetheart pink), Zoe (dazzling orchid)
  • 4 x 0.07 oz Mini Full On Lip Creams in Lavender Cosmo (lilac pink), Mai Tai (vivid coral), Mudslide (petal pink), White Russian (nude pink)

Now, normally, I’d be all in for lipgloss hoarding, especially with gloss this shiny, but I think this kit is one of those holiday sets that’s better suited to breaking apart and giving away the individual glosses as presents.

I say that because the glosses are all pretty sheer, even the darker shades, and after a certain point, I think they all start to look the same…

You could keep the ones that move you the most, and give the rest of them away to family and friends.

See? Everybody wins! 🙂

No, seriously, did I mention that I’m really, really tired?

I could fall asleep right…

OOPS! How long was I out?

The only things keeping me upright and semi-cognizant right now are 1) the tingle from these Buxom glosses, 2) willpower and 3) repeatedly blasting that Taylor Swift song, Shake It Off, every 30 minutes, because it’s a lot like an alarm clock in that it toes the line between perky and bothersome.

Lesson learned! No more scary stuff before bed, unless you count The Gilmore Girls. 🙂

I’m right at the halfway point in season 5, and things have started to, I dunno, go off the rails. Christopher is back in the picture, but Lorelai is still with Luke…and I’m hoping it stays that way because I really like Luke.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Wow. These are terrific and would last you all year long. Do you ever have problems with plumping lip glosses make your lips peel? Last time I tried one, my lips peeled really badly. It was disgusting.

    Hi Karen,
Those glosses look pretty but I’m not that big of a gloss girl and I’m really not into the plumping ones. But for some reason, I keep buying glosses and putting them in a drawer. However, this kit has way too many…I wish more of my friends were into makeup and would appreciate a gloss…

Maybe you and Tabs should take a quick nap 🙂

Oooh, one named “Jennifer”…and it’s a fuchsia which is my favorite lip color!

However… I don’t wear gloss but rarely. I don’t think I can justify this one. Oh well, there will be something else… 🙂

If you have both lips the same tint everything looks so much better and prettier! I wish glosses looked half as pretty on me! *sigh*

Buxom seems to have a lot of awesome products, Agata (Her and Makeup) keeps talking about their mascara and her lashes do look lovely.
Let´s see, if I can get my hands on some of their makeup.

I like the idea of breaking it up so each acquaintance on your list gets the gloss you think will look best on her! Perfect if you work in an office packed with women, too.

Saw this at Sephora and was debating on whether or not to get this. The SA there suggested breaking it up and giving as multiples gifts, too. I like some of the colors, but not sure I would get too much use out of most of them and also – I just have a hard time justifying spending that much on myself. Spending it on others? YES!
