I picked up this fun little layering necklace at H&M recently for $8. 🙂 You know I can’t say no to a fierce red lip!

Is it bold eyes and a nude lip? Bright cheeks and lots o’ lashes? Cat eyes? Sparkly glitter liner? Matte neutrals FTW?
I always feel like fall is a good excuse to go completely crazy in the makeup department, especially with my eyes, so lately, with fall all but here already, my go-to look of late has been some sort of variation on smokey eyes, with contouring and highlighting on my cheeks, and a dark lip.
Basically, if I can look like a vampire extra from Underworld (the first one, of course), I’m happy. 🙂
Now, if I have an appointment or someplace to be where I have to look somewhat responsible (CRAP), I’ll swap out the bold lip for something nude.
These days, I feel like I can’t stop wearing Tom Ford’s Sable Suede, which, while expensive, just might be the best nude lipstick on the planet right now, no joke.
Anyhizzzz…what’s your current go-to makeup look these days? Describe it in great detail please (so as I may try it myself!), if you’re inclined, or jot a quick list — whatever you feel like doing. I’m always curious about what other people are wearing. It’s the voyeur in me, I guess!

Like Gigablack Mascara, the two brow pencils in the new RiRi Hearts MAC fall collection are re-promotes from the permanent line bedecked in eye-catching limited edition pink packaging.
Even before they were RiRi-fied, I kept both of these brow pencils in various makeup bags and — ahem! — the glove compartment of my car, because I never knew when the urge to wear a bold brow would hit me.
Turns out it happens often. 🙂 One minute you’re driving along, dippity-doo, when you glance at yourself in the rearview mirror and think, “Yeah, those brows could be bigger.”
Not a problem if you have one of these around.

I’ve been wearing MAC’s Extended Play Lash in Gigablack for a few months now, and it’s still one of my favorites when I want long, separated and curled lashes that don’t look spidery.
Gigablack straight-up STAYS ON, refusing to flake or smudge, and my lashes look stretched, smooth and glossy. Plus, the skinny brush is just so easy to use.
I didn’t think it could get any better until I saw the RiRi Hearts MAC version in its adorabe pink packaging.
How cute!

Yeah, it’s coo’, RiRi Woo. You and I can be BFFs. We can get dressed up and storm the city sidewalk, stopping strangers in their tracks. They’ll stare at your opaque, crimson color and admire your glistening finish…which shines bright like a diamond (shines bright like a diamond).

Of course, they’ll be compelled to ask about you! I know I’d want to know your name if I saw you stroll past me on the sidewalk.
Of all the lip products in MAC RiRi Hearts for fall, RiRi Woo Lipglass is my favorite of the bunch, and if I had to pick just one lip product from the release, it would be the one dropping into my (already overstuffed) makeup bag.

One of the themes in last summer’s RiRi Hearts MAC summer collection was the idea of opposites — rich, opaque lips contrasting against sheer cheeks — and MAC seems to have weaved that same idea through RiRi Hearts fall as well, with bold lipsticks balanced with sheer eyeshadows (see: the Smoked Cocoa quad) and cheeks via the re-launched Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo.
Remember Hibiscus Kiss from last summer? This new version’s basically the same flower, but with updated plumage/attire.

There’s a super sheer matte bronze (well, at least it’s super sheer on me!) and a cool coral with a satin finish inside.

It’s all about classic smokey grays in the new Smoked Cocoa Eye Shadow X 4 quad from the MAC RiRi Hearts collection for fall.
If it weren’t for the packaging, I’d swear this palette was by Bobbi Brown!

I bet you get a lot of junk mail. I do. I get TONS, and I’m actually afraid to unsubscribe from some of it because El Hub, who works as an IT guy by day, says that clicking that little “unsubscribe” link on legitimate spam confirms to the evil spammer that there’s an actual human being on the other end. So they send even MORE spam.
I guess what I’m trying to say is this: I hate spam, too, and I work very hard (tirelessly, even) every day to make sure that my daily emails never seem like spam. Just the best pictures I can take and (hopefully) helpful, entertaining posts about makeup and beauty products (and sometimes cats).
That’s what you’ll get if you subscribe to my daily newsletter, which I really hope you’ll do.
Thank you for visiting. 🙂
