Burt’s Bees Radiance Travel Kit, aka Adventures in Mini

January 6th, 2009 by Karen 16 Comments

Dude, am I the only person who thinks the Burt’s Bees line kicks arse? I love their lotions, hand soaps and lipglosses, and I’ve had my eye on some of their fancy Travel Kits for a while.

I. LOVE. SAMPLE SIZES, and these travel kits are chock full of ’em. Those mini-bottles and jars make it easy to discover new products from a line without having to commit.

Case in point: the Radiance Collection Kit ($15), which I sampled last week.

It comes with seven mini-items from the Radiance Collection, a body care line featuring products containing royal jelly (a nutritious substance eaten by queen bees in the hive) to restore glow to dull skin: Radiance Exfoliating Body Bar, Exfoliating Body Wash, Body Lotion, Day Creme, Night Creme, Eye Creme and Lip Shimmer.

I liked everything in the kit, but my favorite product turned out to be the one I least expected to like — the Exfoliating Body Bar.

Scented with rose and freesia, she foams up like crazy and leaves my skin feeling clean without that annoying tightness some cleansers can cause.

I figured out that it also works fab as a shave cream, too (I have hairy Yeti legs…).

I was able to try a product I may otherwise not have tried and now may even spring for the full-sized $4 bar. 🙂

Whatever happened to Lil’ Ceaz?

I’m almost too ashamed to admit that I still know the lyrics to Crush on You, by Lil’ Kim and Lil’ Ceaz (“I know you see me on the video, TRUE!”).

Raise your hand if you remember being in a club when this song played. It always made everyone go NUTS! Ahhh… memories.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love Burt’s Bees, although, a lot of their products are pretty hit or miss with me. I either love them or hate them. Anyway, I love the lip shimmers. Those are the best. I’m also a big fan of the coconut foot cream, it works so well.

I always pick these up when they are on sale at Walgreens. Sometimes you get them for as low as $5 or lesser ! Haven’t tried the radiance kit yet …

Hey Karen! I love Burt’s Bees esp the lotions. The milk and honey lotion, the banana handcreme smells just like a ripe banana, and of course the lipbalm is great. My fam loves the cuticle cream so much we kinda fight over it! Oh and that Lil Kim vid and song is crazy! The colors were/are the shiz and she totally rocked each hair color!! True… LOL

Right now, I’m hooked on Burt’s Bees Deep Foaming cleanser with Chamomile & Soap Bark. It’s the best, even for people with dry/sensitive skin like me!

“Crush on You” is my jam! Imma throw shade if I can’t get paid…

    Hi Yadiq,

I listened to it about three times today, along with some Biggie songs.

Oh — there’s a movie coming out soon about him. I might have to secretly watch it.

    Hi Brittany,

I haven’t tried the foot cream yet. Is it good for super dry feet? Mine are a mess right now because of the cold weather.

    Hi Monica,

They sell ’em on the Burt’s Bees website. You’ll have to check to see if they ship internationally, but here’s the link so you can take a look:

    Hi Tania,

LOL! I thought that she looked so cool when she had pink hair!

BTW, have you ever tried the Baby Bee lotion? It rocks.

    Hi Tatiana,

You can slide on my ice like the Escapade… and itchy-gitchy-yaya with the marmalade!

I hadn’t heard that song in YEARS and I still know the lyrics. I can’t even remember half of what I learned in college (what’s O-chem?). Why is this?

Yeah, it works really well. It’s super, super greasy, but if you just put some on before bed and put socks on it works really well.

Hehe I secretly love Little Kim and her hot mess self. But I love the Radiance lotion too but it has a lot of shimmer like Mariah Carey glitter haha. But I love the Orange Cleanser, it’s great for really dry, sensitive skin. Hope you have a good day!

My Family and I are completely obsessed with Burts Bee’s!! Their Chap stick is to die for and it is the only one that I use. My mom’s birthday is 2 days after Christmas (UGH) and by that time I am pretty tapped out money wise, but I was at Target and I grabbed her a Burts Bee’s Mint sampler set and she fell in love with it the moment she tried it!! Overall I have to say that we are Burts Bee’s junkies!!
