I know you need to swing by Petco to get your cat her gravy, and we both want to visit DSW to look at shoes…but can we also stop by 413 BLKR to see what’s happening at NARS?
Silly goose! Of course I’m not suggesting that we drive from San Francisco to the company’s flagship boutique in New York, although I give you mad makeup props for remembering the address of the store (it’s on 413 Bleecker Street). I’m referring to the NARS 413 BLKR collection.
Early this month, NARS added two new pieces to the fam — 413 Lipstick ($26), a stunning rosy brown, and moody blue BLKR Nail Polish ($19).

The lipstick, in particular, seems like a throwback to the mid-’90s to me. It reminds me of a shinier MAC Paramount (and of dancing in da cloob with handsy boys to Lil’ Kim’s Crush on You).
I’mma throw shade if I can’t get paid!
As for the polish, I think it’s a’ight. I like the color — looks like calligraphy ink — but I don’t know how often I’ll have the patience for three layers, you know?

Uh…what the heck happened to this week? I feel like I just sat down at my desk on Monday morning, and all of a sudden it’s Thursday.
I’m so glad to see the sun out. It’s been a little overcast these past few days.
Weird Bay Area weather… One week it’s in the 90s, next week it’s 65.
I’m getting a little tired of wearing sweaters and long pants, though. It’s much too early in the year for that.
BTW, your nephew is not a fan of chilly weather either. If he had his druthers, it would be sunny and hot year round. You know, better for naps.

I like the shade of that blue polish. It’s so dark! But, I agree with you about the three coats. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Sometimes I don’t mind, especially if the color is EPIC, but chances are you could find something similar that doesn’t need so much work, you know?

I know! You could probably do two layers, but it might still be a little streaky. I think it’s still really pretty, though, especially on short nails. 🙂

Mingy is an all-weather cat, except for the rain. Although I think he would look pretty cute in a little, yellow rain coat and hat. 🙂

I watched a cat video of a kitty walking through the snow the other day and thought of Mingy. 🙂 How is my nephew (and his siblings, of course) doing?
Mingy & Co are doing well! They are a bit confused about all the boxes and furniture being moved around. Ella loves boxes and has already claimed one for her own. In a couple of weeks, we’ll be moving to apartment for about 6 months while our new house is being built. I’m hoping the transition isn’t too stressful forcthem. It’ll be nice when we’re finally settled!
Honestly, I don’t know why I bother buying cat toys sometimes. All Tabs needs is a box and he’s GOOD. He’s always trying to sleep in boxes that, um, fail to contain his girth. 🙂
How exciting that your house is being built. Do you guys ever go over there to just look and take pictures? I would totally do that.

Unfortunately, they haven’t started on the new build yet. There’s still paperwork, etc. Our existing house is in contract and the new owners want to move in by the end of the month.
We’ve been in our current house 10 years. It’s exciting to move to a bigger house, but also weird to think that we don’t be living here any more!
Ten years is a long time! It will be bittersweet to leave, I’m sure, but exciting to move and make new memories in your new place. I hope you have a makeup room. 🙂
There is a little sitting room off the master bedroom. Funny, just yesterday I was thinking it would be nice to set up a vanity table where I could sit and do my makeup. 🙂
Nice! Maybe reserve a spot for a cat tower or a cat bed? That way the kitties can hang out with you too. Tabs is always so interested in brushes…

You know I like my polka dots! I am working but only another 30 minutes left. Today’s work has been really annoying, people are so rude that I cannot stand it. First they ask for an interpreter and then when I try to help and interpret, they won’t let me finish interpreting even one full sentence before they start talking over me! Grrr. I think I will burst into tears the moment I get off work!
Oh no! I’m sorry to hear you’re having a rough day. At least it will all be over soon and you can have some downtime to look forward to. I hope your afternoon/evening gets better.
