For No-Makeup Makeup Lash Looks That Go the Extra Mile, Try New Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara

Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara Review
Wearing two coats of the new Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in Carbon Black ($8.49), one of three shades available now at drugstores and online

If you’re into no-makeup makeup looks that go the extra mile, don’t forget your lashes. Swing by the Neutrogena section at your favorite drugstore the next time you cruise the beauty aisle (Can I come with?? We can get Thrifty brand ice cream after), and peep the new $9 Healthy Lengths Mascara.

Supposedly able to make lashes look 100% longer — or twice as long — it’s also designed to strengthen lashes over time from the inside out with vitamin E and olive oil.

Hmm… I’ll pretend that by “100% longer,” Neutrogena meant to say, “slightly longer.” LOL! Because 100% might be a bit of a stretch.

Two coats and my lashes appear lifted, curled, separated and just ever-so-slightly thicker and longer…for the ultimate in no-makeup makeup lash looks. 🙂

Yesterday I wore two coats of Carbon Black, one of the three available shades, when I went hiking with El Hub. I figured that since we’d be walking around in the woods, I didn’t need drag queen-worthy lashes, ya know, like they might seem a little out of place among the 300-year-old oak trees, babbling brooks and steep trails… LOL! So I went with Healthy Lengths Mascara instead.

And it help up well through the hike and beyond. End of day, my lashes still had a curl, and I didn’t see any flakes at all.

I only noticed a small amount of smudging around my outer lash line, but it wasn’t bad, all things considered. I had been perspiring for a few hours in the afternoon, after all, and the formula doesn’t claim to be waterproof.

If you don’t want your lashes looking overdone, and do like the no-makeup makeup look — like looks with just tinted moisturizer and lip balm — Healthy Lengths could be a good fit. It might even be a great fit if you already have full, long lashes but want a little extra definition.

PRICE: $8.49 for a 0.21-ounce tube
AVAILABILITY: Available now at drugstores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B

For your Trader Joe’s shopping list…

Their Buttermilk Pancake mix — ohmigosh! — so BOMB! I made them for breakfast yesterday, and randomly while we were eating El Hub said, “I…love…you.” LOL! The pancakes are so light and fluffy that they actually do melt in your mouth.

My muffin top quivers just thinking about ’em. Next time, though, I think I’m gonna add either chocolate chips or blueberries. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

You know I can’t leave the house without drag queen lashes, so this one isn’t for me. 🙂 Your hike looked beautiful, btw. I’m glad the weather is so nice out there. It gives me hope. HAHA! I’ll actually be in SoCal next week, where it always seems to be beautiful, weather wise.

Love how this looks on you. Strangely, I’ve never tried Neutrogena mascaras before. I tend to go with Loreal and Maybelline.

I don’t know about this for me! Your lashes look really nice to begin with. Mine are blonde and short and stubby (yeah, I was obviously last on line when they handed out lashes)…
