The Korres Vitamin E 10-Color Pencil Kit Is Worth Writing Home About

Holy wow! That’s a lot of liners. And they’re full size too!

The pencils in the Korres Limited Edition Vitamin E 10-Color Pencil Kit work out to just $3.25 each ($32.50 for the kit). Of course, all of them are green. 🙁

No, not literally. I mean they’re eco-friendly and 100% natural, according to Korres, made with moisturizing Vitamin E and jojoba oil. And considering that eyeliners this size (standard 0.04 oz. pencils) usually go for $16 apiece, the kit’s one of the best holiday bargains I’ve seen this year so far.

Korres included a wide range of pigmented colors in popular shades from their permanent line…

Do you like soft, smudgy liner looks or liners layered beneath powder shadows? If so you might like these a lot. All 10 of them blend and glide like Olympic ice skaters along lash and waterlines.

Paired with a good eye primer, I’ve been getting about five hours of wear along my lash line from these and about three hours along my water line. I don’t think they last as long as either the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencils or Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes, but I should also say that my lids have been oilier than usual lately, and that might be cutting down their wear time.

Even having to reapply these liners a little more often than I’d like to, I love their vibrant colors, bargain basement price and soft texture.

PRICE: $32.50 for 10 full-size pencil liners
AVAILABILITY: Sephora stores and online

I’m not getting sick! I’m not getting sick!

Well, I felt pretty good when I woke up this morning, but I sure am worn out now. I hope I’m not catching a cold. Just in case, I’ve been drinking lots of water and popping vitamin C like it’s going out of style! I may have to bust out the Cold-Eeze tonight…

I did perk up a little when I saw this new mascara from Ultraflesh. It’s called Panthera ($26), ha! Like from Thundercats? Wait — that was Panthro.

I showed it to Tabs, and I think he may have recognized the cat, ya know, from a previous kitty modeling gig. 🙂

So what was the highlight of your Wednesday? Anything exciting to report. Mine was probably the Tocca hand creams I’ve been testing (more on that soon), and the fact that Tabs was extra lovey today.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I just love the way the light grey pencil looks, almost like a sage green! It’s kind of a bummer that it swatches greyer than that!

Panthera must have been Panthro’s long-lost twin sister! 😉 Is it wrong of me to covet that mascara just for the ridiculous packaging? Can’t wait to hear how it performs!

I’m so happy Wednesday is over, weekend here we come! 😀

Oops, I just caved in. 🙂 I hope it’s good! And that they release other big cat-themed mascaras in the future.

I love the petrol blue liner! BUT I’ve been banned from Sephora by my hubby! Well, banned maybe dramatic. I get chastied everytime he sees a black and white bag! It’s totally worth it though 🙂

Hmm, would these last longer after setting with a powder? I really like 6S Golden, but I think I’ll stick with MUFE Aqua liners!

    Hope you’re staying healthy Karen!

I’m pretty stuck on my UD liners (and actually stressing because I need to sharpen a few and I’m afraid I’ll ruin them!). I think the short(er) wear time for the Korres pencils is a deal-breaker for me, but the certainly are pretty.

Whenever I feel like I’m getting sick, I run. It always works. Maybe it just gets my immune system pumping. 🙂

I totally get that — those suckers are small! Are there any colors you find yourself going through quickly? You could just always buy a full-sized stick once you finish a mini one. They last a really long time, too.

Good point! I’m trying to rotate them evenly, but I find myself reaching for Mildew, Rockstar and, of course, Gunmetal most often. I think I may just need a better sharpener. Any suggestions? 🙂

Love Mildew. 🙂 I’m currently going through a Ransom phase, myself.

If you’ve got any Chanel or YSL sharpeners laying about those work really well!

Nice colors, but I prefer UD and my MAC Pearlglides. What eye pencil sharpener do you use? I find some that dont sharpen evenly and then the pencils keep breaking.

      Good morning, Nina!

I go through phases. Sometimes I get enamored with liquids and gels, and other times I get back to my lining roots with pencils. 🙂

This is soooo old but did you ever find those fatty Nyx pencils at the drugstore?

I hauled these in the F&F sale for $26 :). I am not a fan of the Purple, Sky Blue, and Light Grey, but they were such a steal! I’ll give those to a younger cousin or something. I am wearing Blue Petrol right now :).

      Hi Danielle,

I had acne when I was a teenager and in my mid-20s. My skin’s been pretty stable for the last few years with the exception of pimples here and there when “Aunt Flo” comes to visit every month.

When I was a teenager my derm prescribed Accutane, and that was after a bunch of other alternatives didn’t work. It carries some risk, but it was the only thing that cleared up the cystic acne on my cheeks.

During the second bad round of it in my 20s the Pro Activ three-step system cleared it up.

I’ve found that a combination of gentle cleansers, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid (BHA) and exfoliating with the Clarisonic work for me.

Here’s a list of skin care that I’m currently using:

      Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser
Clarisonic Mia with sensitive skin brush head
Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion (this is the BHA product)
Pro Activ Repairing Treatment (this is the benzoyl peroxide product)
Retin-A Micro (for the getting old part, LOL)
Clarins Hydraquench Lotion at night and Hydraquench with SPF during the Day
Korres Quercetin & Oak Eye Cream (although if I had all the $$ in the world I’d use Chanel Sublimage Eye instead)

Oh yeah — keeping your hands off your face helps, too. Picking at the zits only seems to make things infinitely worse.

Lemme know if you have any other questions!

      Hi LC,

Yeah, these are fine for the waterline; if you want to be extra careful you might want to keep anything with glitter away from the area though.
