I’m really excited about the skin care, makeup and hair goodies I picked up recently at the Sephora sale. 🙂
A couple of standby favorites were in the mix of course; Kate Somerville Anti Bac and Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown, I’m talking to you!
I also grabbed a few new-to-me things, including this box of Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel Pads.
I’m hesitant to add any steps to my already very simple skincare routine, but I’ve been needing some help with hyperpigmentation and heard raves from derms and estheticians about how this product works wonders on acne, uneven tone and fine lines.
You’re supposed to use it the in evenings, two to three times a week, which I can totally handle. Anything more than that, ugh, forget about it.
Have you tried it? I’m excited about it!
And because I’m a sunscreen hoarder, I bought a tube of Innisfree Daily UV Defense. Side note, I write for Innisfree! Anywho, it has chemical filters and is supposed to layer well with makeup. I plan to use it as an everyday sunscreen.
I’ve come to the realization that I really love trying foundations and concealers and can no longer fight the obsession. I couldn’t resist the siren call of Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation and Concealer. I bought 8 Warm in the Foundation and 8 in the Concealer, by the way.
The Foundation is spot on my color, but I’m thinking the Concealer might be a little too light for my under-eye area. Hmm. I’m debating on whether or not I need to exchange it.
Last but not least, I finally gave in and bought a full-size version of Bumble and Bumble’s Hairdressers Invisible Oil. I love this stuff! It’s great for softening and smoothing ends. The trick is, though, to apply a tiny bit, otherwise your hair will feel super greasy.
I’m hoping the bottle will last me forever. LOL!
Anywho, let me know if you’ve tried any of these things. I always love to hear what you like and don’t like.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy Tuesday!

Nice collection of purchases! I use the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Ultra Gentle Daily Peel Pads for Sensitive Skin once a week. My skin always looks great for a few days after I use them. I’ve tried upping my use to twice a week, but my skin lets me know that’s too often.
I love trying foundations too, in the hopes that I will some day find one that ticks all the boxes. Looks like my skin only better. Perfect shade match. Lasts for an 8 hour day. Doesn’t emphasize or settle into my lines and pores. I want to love the Charlotte Tilbury foundation, there just isn’t a good shade match for me.
I was perusing Instagram the other day and stumbled across a Korean brand that has 120 shades of foundation. It takes three weeks to get it because they only make it after you’ve been matched and request it.
Have fun playing with your new goods.

OH MY GOODNESS! What is that Korean brand? (Side note: I have a two co-workers in Seoul right now!)
Tatiana says
Sorry for going radio silent on ya. The brand with the 120 colors is called Hera.
Tatiana says
Whoops, that’s not right. That’s another brand. Darn I can’t find it now.
Karen says
I’ve never heard of this brand so thank you! If I ever have the opportunity to go to Seoul, I’m going to get some things, for sure!
Tatiana says
Ok, so I did some digging and it is Hera that offers custom match 120 shades foundation. Link to Insta, I hope this is ok to post. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqowbbmp5TP/

It’s always fun to get some new things you’re excited about. I don’t do anything like AHA’s or Retinol right now. For me a skin care decision I’ve made is not use products with fragrance as it’s a butt load of unnecessary chemicals.
I love the way Chanel foundation looks on you that I’ve almost decided to try it or at least another luxury foundation. I’m having a hard time biting that bullet because what I use is working and inexpensive. It’s not even full foundation, just a L’Oréal mineral powder.
Happy Spring and good luck with all your work deadlines.

If what you’re using is working for you and is affordable, then stick to it! Maybe get a sample of the Chanel next time you’re at a counter? That way you can try it without having to spend the $$$.
Happy spring to you too! I’ll take all the luck for my deadlines because I have another round of things due in two weeks.

You write for Innisfree? Cool! I ordered the small size of their moisturizing cream to try. I’ve never tried anything from the brand, but my skin has been super dry and I bought multiple small moisturizers to try from different brands. I’ve used the Dr. Gross peel pads, but I kept forgetting that they were in the back of my cabinet and they expired.
Karen says
Yes, I do! 🙂 I hope you like the moisturizer. Our sister brand, Laneige, is supposed to have some good ones, too!

Good morning,
I missed my blog reading time yesterday – but I was out with a new colleague/friend’s home for a visit so that was fun. I am late to responding.
The bumble and bumble is terrific even in my thin straight hair but you are so right Monday I went one pump too much and my hair looked greasy on day 2.
Do you have any recommendations for good under eye circle creams or lotions to reduce the darkness on the inner eye under eye if that makes sense?
