Chanel Warms It Up with the Plein Soleil Eyeshadow Quad

To quote ’90s rap duo Kris Kross (aka the kids who pioneered the backwards clothing thing), “Warm it up, Kris! (I’m about to.) Warm it up, Kris! (’cause that’s what I was born to do.)”

Keeping with the theme, Chanel’s Plein Soleil ($56) eyeshadow quad from the 2009 Cote D’Azur collection is all about warmer shades.

It packs four warm, shimmery shades — a peachy bronze, light coral, dark orange-brown and a light peachy coral — that I dig using individually in light washes of color over the lid, particularly for understated and elegant glows in summertime looks, but beyond their use in simple washes, the colors in this quad aren’t setting my world on fire.

Chipper! I woke up early to try jogging in the morning (thought I’d try something new). We’ll see how long my enthusiasm lasts, ha ha!

To go running every morning this week, to get better about answering my e-mails, to prepare at least one new healthy food meal (sesame scallops, yum!), to book an appointment to see (ha!) the optometrist, to get to bed earlier

So how was your Easter Sunday? We’re back from what turned out to be lunch (instead of brunch) with my parents and brother in the East Bay. It was fun. Lots of eating (pot roast and pecan pie) and catching up.

After two rejected auditions to work as one of the Fly Girl backup dancers on the ’90s comedy show In Living Color, J.Lo’s third try was the charm. The rest is history. Twenty-three films, seven albums, a series of high-profile romances (remember Bennifer?) and a fashion/fragrance line later, the South Bronx-born Jennifer Lynn Lopez (July 24, 1969) never has to dance backup again.
