I’m kind of on the fence about my latest TV obsession, the new Beverly Hills 90210, except that it’s not new at all, because it’s from 2008.

Netflix, ya know? I watch so many things I never would have found, but I started watching it, and I’m wondering, are any of the actors actually in their teens?? I mean, it takes place at West Beverly High School. Couldn’t they have hired an actual teenager for at least one of the parts?

But I digress…

How’s it going, my friend? What are you up to this weekend? I’m absolutely not excited about it, but I have to do some housecleaning. 🙁 Since El Hub thinks he spotted a mouse in the kitchen the other day, I am officially freaked out. I’m also extremely disappointed in Tabs for failing in his duties as the company’s lead mouser. I’m starting to wonder if he fibbed on his resume.

Right now, though, I’m on my way to another one of those Sephora classes. This one’s called Perfectly Paired Lips and Cheeks.

These classes are great, BTW! You should totally look into them. They’re fun, and because they’re early in the morning, they help me get an early start on the day. Four stars and two thumbs up!

Good morning, sweet girl (and boys). I’m sitting here with a rumbly tummy, which I never do on Saturday mornings, because I am trying to get out of the house ASAP, and I’m running a little late.

I’m going to another one of those Sephora classes at the store down the street, this one called Correct and Conceal, which sounds right up my alley.

I hope you had a fun Friday night. Yes, I did end up playing that D&D-ish game with El Hub, and you know what? I was entertained. I did not totally hate it, and El Hub was really good at being, I guess, the game master and telling a story.

Who knew? That man surprises me every day.

My character is a 17-year-old girl named Bijou, and when I told El Hub that’s what I wanted to name her, he said, “You really want to name this girl Bijou?” and I said, “Yes, her name is Bijou.” And she has a winged cat with navy blue feathers.

Girl, how come you didn’t tell me to watch 17 Again sooner!? It was such a cute movie! And I love movies like that. I feel like I really dropped the ball on that one by not watching it sooner… LOL!

Rise and shine, morning glory! Judging by the sun streaming through my windows, it’s a beautiful, but eerily quiet, day. I don’t hear a single bird singing right now, which is highly unusual… Most mornings are a cacophony of bird-related activity, but I don’t hear a single tweet or chirp. I wonder what’s going on out there…

Oh! I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention this, but do you ever play fancy card games? El Hub has been getting me into boardgames and card games lately, and he ordered a really fun one from Amazon called Love Letters. It’s so much fun! It’s quick and easy to play, and only about $10, but we have a blast. Highly recommended for couples.

I’m kind of anticipating some power outages this fall and winter due to this whole El Niño thing, so we’re stocking up on a few games to have around just in case.

How’s it going this morning? OK, movie share time… I saw a pretty good one on iTunes last night called Z for Zachariah. It’s a post-apocalyptic thriller set after a nuclear war. A young woman (Margot Robbie) survives alone with her dog on her family’s farm in a secluded, idyllic mountain valley that was spared the fate the befell the area around it, which is now a radioactive wasteland. One day another survivor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) — the only other survivor the woman has seen in a year — happens upon the valley, and she’s overjoyed to finally have human companionship again. They start to build a life together.

Then another dude shows up (Chris Pine, aka Captain Kirk), and BOOM! — love triangle, and all hell breaks loose, haha!

It’s good though. Good science fiction.

In other news, I’m heading out to my parents’ house in a little while for a visit. I hope you’re doing something fun this weekend.

El Hub and I got takeout Puerto Rican for dinner because I’d been craving good beans and rice, then came home and checked on our neighbor’s kitty cat and bunny. Yup, we’re on petsitter duty this weekend for their cute orange tabby and little white bunny, and that’s fun. After providing the entertainment for their evening, we rented a pretty good Western on iTunes called Slow West starring Michael Fassbender. Good movie, but not a lot of rainbows and kittens, if you know what I mean…

After that, it was off to bed for this gal!

I’m not sure yet what we’ll do today, but it feels like a good mall day to me. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something in the air. I feel the mall vibes… LOL!

How’s it going this morning? Tabs, El Hub and I are chugging along, purr usual, although there are some nasty wildfires out here in Northern California. There’s smoke all across the horizon. The closest one of the big fires is less than an hour away near Lake Berryessa, and that one has us a little nervous.

Did you do anything fun last night? We went to see that movie, the new Mission Impossible, and uh…Tom Cruise does not look his age. I don’t know if it’s all movie magic or just clean livin’, but yeah, I’ll have what he’s having, LOL!

Good movie though. Lots of action and car chases and stuff, of course. Exactly what you expect in a Mission Impossible.

After that we just came home, and I sort of passed out. I think it was only about 9:30 (!). I don’t know why, but I’ve been more tired than usual lately… I must be taking lessons from Tabs.
